Questions about entry, registration, access arrangements and deadlines belong to your school or exam centre. This website and your tutor can help you prepare the question, but they cannot give the final answer.
This lesson closes the Malay qualification routes module. It builds on telling 0546 from 0696 and checking the examination year.
Which questions go to the centre?
Ask the centre about which code you are entered for, which series and year, entry deadlines and fees, and any access arrangements you may need. These are centre decisions with Cambridge.
Ask Cambridge, through its subject page, about syllabus content and current documents. Ask your teacher about how to prepare.
How to prepare the question, step by step
- Write the decision you are trying to make in one sentence.
- Collect evidence: the code, the syllabus page and the year.
- List two or three questions in plain wording.
- Choose who to ask: school office, exam officer or Malay teacher.
- Record the answer with the date and the person’s name.
Worked example
The details are invented. Mei Ling is unsure whether her Malay entry fits her background. She writes:
Decision: confirm my Malay entry code.
Questions: Which code am I entered for? Which exam year is that for? By what date must any change be requested?
She sends this to the exam officer and receives a reply naming her code. She also drafts one polite Malay line for her Malay teacher:
Cikgu, boleh saya tahu kod peperiksaan Bahasa Melayu saya?
Her notes now carry the code, the year and the date of the answer.
The mistake to watch for
A student asks a friend in another school and treats the reply as official.
Mistaken step: another school’s answer settles my entry.
Each centre handles its own entries and deadlines.
The correction is to ask your own centre and keep the reply.
Check yourself
All details are invented.
1. Who answers “Which code am I entered for?”
Show answer
Your school or exam centre, which holds your entry.
2. Where do you check the current syllabus?
Show answer
The Cambridge subject page for your code.
3. Why record the date of an answer?
Show answer
Deadlines and details can change, so a dated record shows what you were told and when.

Now test all five ideas together with the Malay qualification routes practice set. Use the mistake log and retest queue to keep track of errors, and see the Malay assessment guide for the wider route picture.
If you want someone to help you prepare the questions and read the answers, that is part of online one-to-one Malay tuition.
